I have to say I don't do many reviews but when I received this item I just had to say something about it to help other pet owners who may have the same concerns I did when purchasing a travel carrier for your pet. I was highly concerned of quality and safety and this item meets and exceeds all of my expectations. The manufacturer went above and beyond when designing this item more so than any other item I had seen on Amazon and let me tell you I did a whole lot of research. For the price this unit is better than any other higher priced unit I found on the internet. My cat absolutely loves it and I'm getting him used to it before our trip, I have a bit of a larger cat he's about 20 lb but he fits perfectly in this and he has a lot of room to move around and he can stand up fully inside so that he can stretch during our trip. The idea of being able to secure a food bowl inside so that he has it and doesn't spill it is absolutely awesome. There's a little rope inside that just connects to the food bowl and that's it. I have a bit of a small car a 2015 mustang S550 and the back seat if you happen to own a mustang you know are very uneven so I plan on just laying a board across the back seat so that this can simply lay on top of it and be secure. The wheels seem to be of good structure but I have not tried it out yet on pavement so we'll see how they wear over time, not that I'm going to be using this very often it's mainly for a one-way trip to South Carolina but I wanted my cat to be as comfortable as he could during the trip. The one thing I was unaware of with this unit that really wasn't a huge deal was that you cannot use it without the wheels and base which I thought originally that you could but it is okay because the wheels only add about 2 in of height so all is good with that. You have two ways to carry it a standard handle or a shoulder strap you can use one or the other or both if you want. The extension handle is a great feature just like a suitcase you press the button and it slides up and it can be angled in about four or five different positions for when you're rolling it. The mat on the inside is so soft that even while it's just laying around the house while I get my cat used to it he's been sleeping in it over his bed. LOL the windows are all zippers and the three openings, two on the ends one in the front all can zip or unzip and have a locking mechanism so that they do not come apart, it's actually just more of a clip it doesn't lock but the clip is something like you would find on a standard backpack just a mini version of it. The only window that does not open is the rear window but it's still mesh so they can see out of it. The top also has the same zipper and also clips shut. I haven't traveled with it yet but I can tell by the thought that was put into the design and the actual quality materials this thing is going to last me a long time. Like I said it's pretty large but not so large that it won't fit in the backseat of a mustang so I can only assume that any other car this unit will fit into just fine. I hope this review helps other pet owners make the right decision because as said I looked through a lot of these carriers and it took me weeks to finally choose one so I certainly put the research into it.
