This is the third stool I've had for work. I'm a dental hygienist. I was planning to leave the back off, but have kept it on to see if I like it on.The chair is well built. I've paid as much as $600 for my first stool from a dental supply shop. This is better so far. You cannot beat the price.I have only used it for three days so I can't give a real opinion without long term use. It is fully functioning at this point. The tilt works and stays put, the up down is great, it could go an inch higher for my preference, but it will probably be fine for most users. I tend to work in a higher position to put more weight on thighs and for movement. I like the narrower foot base, other stools have base legs that stick out further and get caught on things when moving. The best part about the adjustment functions is that they use a lever that once adjusted is secured by lever rather than screw type handles. I like the saddle fit better than all other chairs. It was comfortable from the first time I sat on it. It seems more padded and better constructed than other saddles. It feels and looks like leather. It might be leather, I have not checked the label. Light wt. easy to move. I move around a lot and adjust the up and down during work for different sized patients I'm working on. For example a large chested man, I generally raise the stool higher so I'm not raising my arms higher to move across his chest. When working in the 12 o'clock position, I might lower it for direct vision of lower ant. teeth ect. I do all this moving in a single appointment to keep my body posture in the best possible position for my comfort. I've been an RDH for 32 years so I'm all about protecting my body. It allows for less stress on my arms, neck and most importantly for me, my lower back. Some of the men in the practice have tried it and liked it but none have used it for work on a patient so I can't offer opinion as to the general "man complaint" but I think the way it's made, it would not put pressure in the area that the men in other posts have complained about. If you are a woman operator who needs body support and moves and adjusts a chair a lot....this is the one for you! I also like the narrower seat, other saddle seats have a wider seat and for me that just creates a wider leg spread than in the other stools I've used which is uncomfortable for me. I'm 5'7 and 140 lb. I think this will support any larger person easily. I recommend trying this if you have never used a stool, and if you are a saddle user it's the best one I've ever used....so far. I will update after I've used it for a longer period of time.
