Not a professional - just a weekend warrior that never had to do more than the occasional head unit install until my latest project.Wiring the entire car, even for a very basic set up that this kit is designed for, can be pretty intimidating and complicated for somebody who essentially has no wiring knowledge and rudimentary understanding of 12v constant vs switched.Painless assumes nothing about your background and starts at 0. The strength of the kit isn’t the labeled wiring and quality of the physical items (though I am completely satisfied with these previous points), but the extremely detailed manual that breaks down the circuits into sections, and offers tons of information about alternative set ups to step by step processes. I laughed to myself when the first page of the instructions essentially told me to read the entire thing front to back before starting, thinking who does that? By the time I was done, I had gone through the entire thing dozens of times and added my own loose sheets of revised wiring diagrams in addition to the notes I’ve made in half the book.Even though I still wouldn’t be comfortable trying to diagnose electrical problems on somebody else’s vehicle, I can say that after going through this process, I’m definitely an expert on my own car’s electrical system.Patience is key, I ran into problems more than a few times, but this is probably as easy as it gets for something that’s complicated.
