I have been so excited to be moving my babies (3 parakeets) into a new, MUCH larger cage! I did a lot of research on size, bar spacing, and price. This by far was the best deal IMO. That being said, I was pretty terrified of putting it together. I figured the money I saved in the cage itself was going to really screw me over personally when I had to put it together. I don't really have a great track record of assembly and there were TONS of reviews stating what a nightmare project this was. For the price though...I went for it and just braced myself. As someone who has had to put together and take apart an over-the-toilet shelf THREE TIMES I can tell you will all honesty this is not even close to as bad as I had been expecting. It was about a 2 hour project, most of that time was spent on my first side trying to keep things lined up as I screwed in the braces. I did the set up by myself, if you had another person it would be stupid easy! As I said, I didn't have a second person so I braced the back standing up against my bed, held/hoped (lol!) the front into a stand position as well and worked on connecting that first side that way. The second side was a breeze). I did make a tiny boo-boo with the brace bars, but it was a very quick and simple fix. I chose to use the wheels as well so that I can move the birds around to different windows and later when it's nice weather I can put them on the balcony with me. I love the cage. It's huge and it feels sturdy. (Granted, this is coming from "my first impression" type review.)P.S. Forgot to add, as everyone had said, yes, the directions SUCK terribly, but I'm not exactly the bright bulb in the box and I figured things out without the directions. Now, on to what really matters....The Birds Opinion: Okay, so...while putting this together in their room everyone was happy and free fly chilling. When I actually got it together and it stood in the room everyone was nervous. When I cleaned and moved their old cages and table away freaked out chirping, "Where are you going thief!" started. When I rolled the new cage into their usual spot quiet confusion. When I called out a happy, "Bedtime!" and gently ushered them...utter panic, terror, OH GOD WE'RE GOING TO DIE chirps and flights started. Lord. The white is still young and he went inside easily. The light blue who is usually always happy to come to me was sure this was the end because dark blue buddy was screaming words of death and panic flying. After light blue getting inside and realizing life goes on auto-calm started for all of them. Dark blue was asked again to go to, 'Bedtime,' and while he was not acting scared anymore after realizing his friends were still alive he was SO CONFUSED at how to get inside it was a comical. I had the huge top for open and he would hover-fly there for a moment and decide, "Nope, that doesn't look like my normal door, better abort!" That happened about 5 times before I snuck up on him from behind and he was a bit startled enough to go into the cage.Literally about 5 minutes after checking things out, they all jumped into the top perch together and everyone of them started grind/clicking their beaks and my dark blue that ALWAYS softly chirps if he's happy started up. I have always had one or two start that beak stuff if I talk with them at night and they nod off a bit, but I've NEVER seen all of them do it at once, all at the exact same time while sitting next to each other!Summary: The birds LOVE it!!! Buy the cage.
