This was surprisingly easy to install. It took about 15 minutes. A video provided basic instruction and it turned to be as easy as it looked. It was more difficult to find the correct part number than replace the ice maker. My refrigerator could use both this part, the DA97-07549B, and the DA97-11029B. The replaced ice maker was the DA97-11029B, as it turned out. Parts lists I found later on the internet said both are compatible. Had I known that earlier, I would have saved $20 by buying the other one. This one uses 1 less screw to hold it in (2 on the top only). It took about 2 hours for the freezer to cool down enough to start the first batch. The refrigerator is a 2010 model and otherwise works like new. Internet reviews make it sound like the new ice maker will work 4 months, or 1 year, or 1.5 years, or forever. The old one worked intermittently. I decided to save it and put it back in if needed, then try again with another new ice maker. If or when #2 failed I would then replace the refrigerator as it will be anywhere from 15 to 20 years old by then, hopefully.
