The notebook is beautiful and soft. It came fairly quickly. It originally had 2 elastic bands to hold in the notebooks and one to hold it closed. After a couple weeks of gentle use, one of the elastic bands to hold in the notebooks came out of where it was held in. There is not really a way to place it back in because the end is capped, That is forcing me to only be able to use one notebook. So sad as this REALLY is a beautiful journal and I have scoured the internet looking for just the right one! I'm hoping the seller will resolve this issue. I just posted this 5/22, so I will give them time. :). If band problem fixed would def. 10 stars!!The paint came off and stained my light coloured leather notebook cover which was next to it! Now I can’t get it off! Not happy at all!This journal arrived in a nice gift box. It has a new leather shoe smell too! The outside is very smooth and even and feels like it has a plastic coating, rather slick for leather. The inside has very fine cross-hatch press marks throughout and sheds easily if you rub or scratch it. It doesn't seem like the best quality leather but sufficient for a journal.I was surprised that all 3 paper inserts are mounted inside. Any can be slipped out and a replacement slipped in. I got the A5 size and it measures about 8 5/8" x 5 5/8" x 3/4" and the inserts measure 8 1/4" x 5 1/2". The plastic insert wraps the middle plain paper insert; mine has what looks like a melted area along the plastic zipper. It seems cheap but can easily be removed. The paper is nice and thick and is slightly off-white.This journal presents well, looks and feels very smooth and even, and has nice paper inside. Would make a great gift especially for someone who both writes and draws in their journals.This journal is gorgeous and worth the cost. I have quite a few Midori traveler journals and while I love them they tend to be a little too small for me when I want to write. Having a very similar journal in a larger A5 size is perfect for me. Everything comes neatly packaged inside of a soft fabric pouch which is placed into a neat box for gifting or safe keeping. The leather is soft and the dark brown color is rich, I didn’t get a strong leather smell (or any other smell for that matter) when I opened it. The journals and such are already put together inside of it when it arrives so you don’t have to fuss with trying to figure out how to keep everything contained and placed. You’ll get three journals; a lined one, plain paper, and a graph one, plus some plastic sleeves one for cards and one zippered pouch.You will find that this journal is a little on the pricier side. Made of beautiful leather, this journal should last a long time.It comes in a lovely cloth pouch that is inside a very nice box. This is quite giftable! Perfect for the traveller who wants to record notes and diary entries. This is the sort of leather that will age beautifully with use. Should you want to replace the inserts that are currently included in this journal, Amazon sells them. The three that are included are sufficient for me now. I also like the little zippered plastic insert- a great place to keep dollars, ticket stubs and other souvenirs from your travels.This leather notebook is beautifully crafted! The leather is firm enough to support the book but soft, smooth and very pleasing to handle. Though it is hand-made it does not have the typical rustic look of many handmade leather products, but has a very polished look. Each section is separated by a heavy paper page in a dark coffee color that adds to the beauty of the notebook and makes it quick and easy to flip to the section you need. There is a clear, vinyl insert with sectioned pockets for business or credit cards. Don't hesitate to purchase this, it's a real pleasure to use and would also make an excellent gift. This makes an excellent gift.This leather journal has lined pages, pages that appear to be hand-made papers, a section for business cards (or credit cards and photos) a zip close pouch for pens or loose notes and finally, pages of graph paper. The construction shows great care and pride of workmanship. The journal (for want of a better name) is nothing if not versatile. The item comes very carefully packaged in a soft fabric pouch inside a strong box. This would make a great gift for a friend or for honoring yourself. Because of the way the pages are secured, the journal even lays quite flat for ease in writing.I love near everything about this…very high quality in every sense, and the fact it comes preassembled is a bonus. The one and only critique I have, is it would be nice to have a Bookmark string similar to the Midori TN.Easy enough to add one I suppose.Wonderfully packaged and made. Great quality fir a great price. Will buy again!
