I am an artist/sculptor. Use this in my studio/office along with a Herman Miller Aeron chair and a Herman Miller Aeron High Stool. The chair is primarily for desk use. Both the Aerons are elaborate, cushy & have fully adjustable arms & back. The Aerons are appropriate for longer working positions and support, and totally different design & function from this small Dr. Lomilomi stool. Hope I'm not confusing you but thought mentioning all the sitting equipment in my studio might be helpful. The Dr. L stool is very simple; height adjustable with a small lever. I use The Lomilomi stool for lower work where I need to rise, sit, move around quickly—trust you can visualize that from the photo. A quick shove with my feet and it scoots to where I want it; that said, once you are sitting, it does not slip out from under you or tip. The Dr. L. stool is well balanced, high quality material, nice thick cushioned seat, and moves easily across my tile floor. I seem to recall it came in 2 pieces: the seat and the pier/roller mechanism, making assembly a cinch. There are many cheaper versions of this "doctors' type" stool out there which are clumsier and flimsier, proving you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.
