This book provides a very good basic overview of occupational safety in wastewater treatment. It is not a detailed and comprehensive guide, nor is it marketed as such. This is a great book for safety professionals to “gift” to management so they have a reference for an overview of safety. In actual practice, I generally rely on actual OSHA regs, NFPA standards, and other agency promulgated legislation (EPA, DOT, etc.). This book is great for an overview of programs that should be in place, and is a great starting point for agencies that do not have professional safety staff, or contractors who may work in WWTPs.
