There has never been a concert like it. There never could be again. It was July 5th 1969, two days after the death of guitarist Brian Jones, when half a million people gathered in Hyde Park to pay homage to the British group described as the greatest rock'n'roll band in the world. They were The Rolling Stones. The Stones in the Park is a vivid record of this momentous occasion. .. Play List: 1. Midnight Rambler 2. Satisfaction 3. I'm Free 4. I'm Yours She's Mine 5. Not so much a Concert film as a would be documentary that was never finished that features some very rare concert footage. A great Time Machine of a film. Runs just over an hour. For younger viewers let me put it in perspective. It is 1969. The Founder and lead guitarist of The Rolling Stones was kicked out of the band and later found dead in his swimming pool. The Stones wanted to premiere the new Band with guitarist Mick Taylor by giving a free concert in Hyde Park and using it as an Eulogy to Brian Jones. Even though it was 1969 the Sixties were DEAD with it’s Casualties trying to exist. This is where the Filmexcels in illustrating this. Welcome to the Nihilistic 70’s.
