It’s a heavy, good quality rug, but the rust/black is more of a light brown/black. As for the green and gold, they’re just hinted at. The pictures on the website look much warmer and darker than in person — only the black is true. That said, I’m keeping the rug anyway because I think the pattern is lovely and the general effect very elegant.(Edited to add: I ended up returning it after all. When I got up the next morning to look at it in daylight, it just looked dull and dreary. I bought a rug from the Nourison Paramount Collection instead: it’s not wool, but the colors sing.)This rug is reasonably priced in terms of its size and wool quality. The colors are striking. Initially the rug was visually appealing until the lint started appearing every day. Cleaning the rug on a daily basis is a chore. Vacuuming the rug does not get rid of all of the lint. Thus one has to use tape to berid the remaining lint. Very time consuming and frustrating. I am hoping that the lint quantity will diminish over time.If not, what a disappointment it would be to live with a rug which requires daily cleaning.The one we received is NOT EVEN CLOSE to the same as the one in the photo. Looks cheesy and it's NOT 6' 6" either. It's ALMOST 6'.Got this one to replace a cheaper SAFAVIEH that we bought but had started falling apart immediately when vacuumed, and never stopped.Compare the one we received (with the chairs and table) to the one we ordered. Absolutely ridiculous!Sending back for refund.I bought this carpet to put in my hallway to my living room. It is 2 1/2 by 12 feet. The carpet quality is outstanding. Other runners we have bought were much thinner and never looked as rich as this. The runner does tend to slip so be prepared to put grippers or something on the back of it. It also sheds a bit at the beginning but if you vacuum regularly, this is not a problem. I woudl recommend thsi carpet.This is a beautiful, thick, plush rug and colors are beautiful. The only problem with the rug is that it does shed and I am constantly vacuuming around it. I am hoping the shedding stops at some point, but in the meantime I am willing to put up with it.The price was very reasonable, and the colors are nice; but even after three months this rug is still clogging my vacuum cleaner with all of its excessive shedding. My husband says that surely the rug will "calm down" in the near future, but I'm beginning to lose hope. My vacuum cleaner is still filling with the same amount of rug fibers as it did when I first began vacuuming this rug three months ago.The colors are very rich, it it nice and thick, full. A compliment to the room. Very soft. Some shedding but pretty much what I've always experienced with any wool rug. I am very very pleased that it was such a good value...looks like you spent a lot more money on it.I bought this over 5 years ago and the shedding does settle down (though it is typical with wool rugs) and I can say in spite of the shedding it has done, it's still incredibly thick. I'm considering another one because my stupid dogs dug a hole in it when they were puppies.The rug in and of itself is fine. However it actually measured over 8 by 10 and barely fit in the room so was not thrilled since the description specified it was smaller than the 8 by 10 which would have been the perfect size for the room and was the determining reason I ordered it. Didn't want to mess with returning.
