This rug (4x6) is much nicer than I expected! It seems they took a high-res photo of a lovely vintage rug (probably early 20th century?) and did a good job matching the original colors.The rug comes rolled and lays flat right away, but the pile is a little crushed from being rolled, so it appears to be creased. If you let it sit for a day, the pile settles down and you can see what the surface really looks like.The rug has a very nice silken sheen and the detail is sharper than I expected. In the photo you can see subtle horizontal stripes where daylight falls on the rug. These replicate the "abrash" stripes found on a real rug, where the sheen of the pile changes.The pile is very low and the rug is very thin, but that's how real antique oriental rugs are too! This is not much thinner than a real rug. The surface is silky and pleasant to walk on barefoot, as long as you're not expecting your feet to sink into a plush padded carpet.It amazes me that for $50 one can get such a good replica of a rug that would cost $1,000 or more if it were real. Obviously, no one looking at it closely will be fooled! For example, compare the whip-stitched edge to the edge of the real rug in the first photo. But the colors are subtle, the pattern is beautiful, and it looks wonderful in the room.I'm happy with this purchase.
