Be prepared for winter's worst. Lined with low-bulk insulation, this boot offers a grippy outsole and fully sealed waterproof protection. The shoe has a 5mm sole lug depth
I actually now have three pairs of these Merrell's and my wife has a pair also. The "Ice Grip Soles" do stick to ice fairly well, adding safety to a durable, and comfortable slip-on recreational shoe. They are also relatively conservative in appearance; so wearing them out for more dressy events is not out of the question. So many other recreational shoes look like they are more show than go.I have had many Merrell boots and hiking shoes... always a good choice! These are great for winter, especially on snow and ice, and very comfortable. They give excellent grip on winter streets and sidewalks-best I have ever tried. This is reason i bought them to try. They also are the most comfortable i have owned for years - have been a Rockport fan in the past. Also are durable for every day wear. Will definitely buy again!First off, this is a terrific casual shoe for the winter season. I would not call it a work boot and indeed, if you step into a deep puddle, your feet are probably in for a bath. I’ve worn them while spending hours outside shoveling snow, etc., and never had wet feet. They are not slip proof but they do a great job providing better stability if you use common sense, especially on icy areas. I’ve owned several pairs and only had to reorder because my foot size changed. I use the old pair for outside yard work as the sole grips nicely on the wet grass going up or down the sides of the house and they are very comfortable. They are often hard to find and I ordered this pair because I wanted a spare before prices may go up or they change styles.Unfortunately, Merrell sent me someone else’s order based on the packing slip - wrong size and style. (Peter in New York - expect a call from Merrell). I originally sent a 1 star review to Merrell as it’s usually a real PITA on any returns these days and it is a unique problem to boot (no pun intended). Had to contact Merrell directly as they are the seller. Terrific, real, live person customer service by Jenni. Knowledgeable, polite and helpful. No robo or online chat nonsense (useless). Problem resolved and correct pair on the way. 4 stars because of the great customer service and quality of shoe. Good news is that they just got restocked including the black color. They seem to be pretty comfortable, but not as comfortable as Jungle Mocs or the Adventure Mocs. However, these shoes are made for winter, rain, and traction. The soles seem to flare out around the sides of the shoes providing excellent traction. I'm glad that I got a half size larger than the Jungle Mocs and Nubuck Adventure Mocs which were slightly larger than I felt comfortable with and had to reorder them in 8.5 Wide. These are more true to size (9 Wide) which is my normal size.I also have several pair of the Waterproof Adventure Lace shoes, and from my experience, Merrell shoes keep on going. So far I have not had any issues with water in any of my shoes. I've worn the Waterproof Adventure Lace for about a year straight every day to work and they still remain pliable, non-odorous, and waterproofed.I will comment again on this in about 3 to 6 months after wearing them through the Michigan Snow. These will be my everyday shoe.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Updated on 3/25/2020I just received my second pair of these shoes. These are brown whereas my first pair are black. I wore the black pair exclusively this past Winter in Snowy Michigan, and I can't say enough good about them.1. They are holding up well. My guess is that these will certainly last for a long time.2. Comfort - once broken in, these are very comfortable.3. Warmth - Not once in wearing them in frigid weather conditions did my toes freeze.4. Waterproof - Never did my feet sweat or get wet from leakage.5. Traction - For the first Winter here in snow and ice did I not fall or slip, not even once.I spend a lot of time outdoors and these proved themselves to be the Suburu of snow shoes.Ever had a shoe fit so perfectly it feels like a glove whenever you put it on? I hadn't either until I tried this Merrell Moc on for the first time. Wow, it felt incredibly comfortable and warm without being too hot. Looks great but yet fully waterproof and able to handle cold temps without any special socks. I have worn these for about a month now in all kinds of weather and they have become my go to shoes anytime I leave the house. Rain, sleet, ice, and snow don't slow me down when I am wearing these and I feel like my feet are smiling all day. Seriously, these were expensive but I am very thankful I decided to give them a try and they are going to be my everyday shoe all winter long. Plus as an added bonus my wife thought they looked great as well. I have always had good luck with Merrell shoes but these are hands down my favorite pair of snoc/ice mocs/clogs and I have owned many over the years from most of the other major brands. I will be searching out more Merrell shoes in the future.**Update - after several weeks of being the ONLY shoe I wore out of the house these have become even more comfortable. I can now step into them without problem and they still feel tight and secure on my feet. They have handled the cold with no problem and are still the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned (that aren't slippers). Great product, very happy I made this purchase!!I have used Merrell products for years and have been mostly satisfied. Unfortunately, within 4 months splits have formed in the uppers of both shoes. Used mostly in spring, no usage in heavy snow or other severe weather conditions. Not impressed, would not advise.I have a few different Merrill footwear - these run maybe 3/4 of a size small compared to their boots.Great fit and quality solesBought these for my dad who uses a walker. I needed a winter boot/shoe that is easy to put on with an anti-slip bottom for the winter. These fit the bill. He has wide feet and typically wears a size 10.5 W. We ordered the 10.5 W and he could barely get his foot in. We then ordered 11 W. These were also tight. But given the anti-slip sole and the recommendation from my sister who has the same pair I decided to stretch them out. This worked. He loves these shoes as they are easy to slip on, they offer good support and after much stretching finds them comfortable. If you have wide feet I would recommend ordering 1/2 size up and order Wide.I've worn Merrells for years because they are quality shoes with perfect fit and comfort. these are no exception. They do fit snug bt not tight so I would suggest a 1/2 to full size larger if you are going to wear thicker winter socks but consider these will stretch some the more they're worn. For me I prefer that snug fit for support and comfort so it is why I choose Merrell
