Our old GE Ice dispenser had a broken plastic disc in the back. It was split in two. Sometimes the plastic disc would freeze back together and then the dispenser bucket worked. If the two halves separated, the ice would not dispense. We couldn’t use the crushed ice setting because it wasn’t working.I tried replacing the plastic disc part following videos on YouTube, but it was an Epic fail! Instead, I ordered this ice dispenser bucket in the beginning of March . It is now August, six months later. The new dispenser works great! Easy to install, and worth the price paid! It responds quickly as long as the bucket is full of ice and the crushed iced setting is still working well. We had to replace this bucket at least one other time when the refrigerator was under warranty. The crushed ice function was always touchy in the past. Fingers crossed ? on our new dispenser!
